Fading Into Dust

Fading into dust is a mixed media piece focussing on the fragile and transitory state of locally found slate when used as a painting and sculptural medium.

Displayed with slate in its various forms; from found rock, partially ground and formed pebbles to reworked emulsified clay or fine paint, this piece emphasises the death rebirth cycle of the natural world. recycling and reforming the painting or sculpture each time it is displayed. No two exhibitions of the same source material will be the visually identical.
